Description

Footwell Module (FRM) failure is a common problem in BMW cars. The FRM module is a unit that controls all the vehicle’s lights.

The FRM is an electronic component that controls electrical elements and receives signals from sensors in your 2010 BMW 135i, such as the ones which operate lights, windows, door locks, mirrors, and other switches. The FRM receives signals from these sources and activates lights or controls the component itself.

Typically your BMW FRM will fail when you jump-start your vehicle or when the vehicle’s battery goes flat.

Symptoms of failed 2010 BMW 135i FRM units include:

  • Headlights do not work
  • Light switches do not work
  • Windows do not move up or down
  • Parking lights stay on
  • Indicators do not work

If your 2010 BMW 135i FRM is faulty due to a flat battery, it is highly recommended that you replace your vehicle battery. FRM units have an extremely high failure rate, so the battery must be replaced to avoid future problems.

Once a repaired FRM from the ECU Pro is installed into the vehicle no additional programming is required. All the lights will work, and the vehicle will be 100% back to normal.
